Disaster strikes old Hui (Michael Hui), the owner of the traditional restaurant, when the chicken wages was against the duck. Old Hui's restaurant is famous for its barbecued duck. His success makes him rude to its customers; and mean to his shopfront is a mess. Retribution comes when an American-style fast food outlet, Danny's Fried Chicken, opens right across with a lot of fanfare. His customers and faithful head writer defect to the new rival. To fight back Hui starts a battle of food and culture between the East and the West; his selfishness and wants to reconcile.
